Our team of expert engineers undertake detailed Survey, Testing and inspection of existing Lightning Protection installations. Our engineers will undertake remedial and maintenance work at virtually any height, and are trained in the safe and efficient use of all access techniques.

Lightning Protection- Adequacy Study and Risk Assessment as per IS2309 and IEC 62305

The Electricity Board Regulations require that lightning protection systems are tested regularly in accordance with BIS2309 or IEC 62305. We recommend your system is tested at intervals of 11 inspection and testing months, meaning across a 12-year period your system will have been tested throughout every season of the year.

Our team of expert engineers undertake detailed testing and inspection of completed installations. This includes verifying that the installation is in accordance with the correct specification and compliant with all current legislation.

During these inspections, the mechanical condition of all conductors, bonds, joints and earth electrodes should be checked and the observations noted. These periodic inspections and tests will indicate what maintenance, if any, is needed.

Our engineers will undertake remedial and maintenance work at virtually any height, and are trained in the safe and efficient use of the following apparatus:

• Fixed or mobile scaffolding
• Winched Work Chair
• Cradles and safety ropes
• Ladders and ladder extensions

The goal and scope are as follows

• The main objective of a lightning protection system is to safeguard a structure from damages as a result of lightning strikes.
• Evaluate the condition of the existing lighting protection system and suggest a recommendation in line with IEC62305 and IS 2309.
• Calculate the Probability of a Lightning Striking the structure based on the Area of Coverage and the Lightning Flash density of the region.
• Estimate the Exposure risk of all individual structures within a plant and prioritize the need for protection based on the extent of threat.
• Document the findings and submit a detailed report with sketches of the recommendation , Zonal mapping , Bill of Material and the detailed Cost of Lightning Protection .

We undertake to conduct a Survey of the existing ‘Lightning Protection system’ at your plant in order to assess the adequacy based on the stipulations of IEC 62305 and IS 2309.

A detailed ‘Adequacy study report’ is then submitted along with the proposed modifications , Bill of Material and Suggested Installation Sketches to render safety and protection in line with IS 2309 / IEC 62305 stipulations.
